White Wine
Chardonnay
Tasting note
This Chardonnay is in a class of its own. It has floral, spicy and mineral notes of Williams pear, vineyard peach, flint, acacia and brioche on the nose. The palate is initially flattering, quickly giving way to juicy acidity and a salty, mineral structure. It has a long-lasting, fresh finish with notes of green apple, acacia, white pepper, blossom honey and a hint of cedar wood.

Description
If we want to simplify the stylistic world of Chardonnay, limiting it to the ‘Burgundian’ and ‘Californian’ poles, then we are clearly speaking French. As with Pinot Noir, we also seek elegance, freshness, purity and aromatic complexity in Chardonnay.
Grape Variety
100% Chardonnay. The Chardonnay vines were planted in various plots in 2003, 2007, 2012 and 2018.
Vineyard
Selvenen, Heiligacker and Selviteiler. A total of 70 acres of Chardonnay vines are divided between these three vineyards.
Soil
The diverse vineyards reflect the typical Malans terroir, which is characterised by sediment from the mountains and the Rhine, and contains a high proportion of slate, humus and limestone.
Viticulture
We cultivate our vines using natural, holistic methods. In accordance with the principles of regenerative agriculture, we use various seeds and compost teas, and we are certified organic by Bio-Suisse and Knospe.
Maturation
The Chardonnay grapes are pressed using three secret methods and matured individually in 300-litre barrels. After 12 months, the wines are blended together in a steel tank for several months before bottling.
